MEMBER of Parliament (MP) for Dimani, Zanzibar (CCM), Hafidh Ali Tahir, has passed away at the General Hospital in Dodoma.
Hafidh, who was a former FIFA badge referee, succumbed to death due
to heart problem, according to Secretary of Parliament Dr Thomas
Kashilila.
He died around 0300am. Mr Hafidh, who was also an ardent Young Africans FC fan and member, was born on October 30, 1953.
He served under various civil servant posts before entering politics. Between 1970 and 1978 he was the head of Zanzibar Broadcasting Corporation and became an MP since 2005.
