A high school teacher was on Tuesday arrested by police after he was caught impersonating a 20-year old girl during a KCSE exam in Sameta, Kisii County.

Joshua Otoki, 34, from Nyabururu Girls Secondary, was nabbed by an invigilator sitting a Chemistry exam under the pretence that he was Quinter Kerubo.

Confirming the incident, County Criminal Investigation Officer Justus Burudi divulged that the invigilator became suspicious after noticing a female's name on the answer sheet but discovered a man was sitting for the exam.

“We suspect that the female student made the arrangement with the teacher so as to secure an excellent result in the subject,” Burudi stated.

Burudi stated that Otoki and Kerubo were both arrested and would be arraigned in court for exam malpractice.

The teacher was nabbed at a private centre where adults are sitting for the KCSE exam.

Meanwhile, a Secondary school principal, a police officer and a supervisor were on Tuesday morning arrested in Nyeri County after tampering with exam papers

The Gatuanja Secondary School principal and the two will be arraigned in court on Tuesday afternoon.
