Mama Sarah Obama, the grandmother of US President Barack Obama, on Wednesday, urged her grandson to visit Kenya as a private citizen since his tenure was coming to an end.
Addressing journalists outside her home, Mama Sarah disclosed that she wanted to see Obama in Kenya and that she would appreciate if he visits after vacating office in January.
"He should come and visit us as a private American citizen," Mama Sarah told a local daily.
She went ahead and urged the US President-elect, Donald Trump to work like Obama and preach peace to the world.
"I want to urge him to work well like my grandson did. He should work hard to keep Americans united," Mama Sarah added.
Mama Sarah expressed her disappointment that Hillary Clinton did not win the elections stating that she had more faith in her than Trump.
Residents of Kogelo echoed Mama Sarah's sentiments stating that they were surprised to learn that Trump had won the US elections.
"We hoped Hillary would help us grow as a community the way our son Obama did because they are close, but now we have lost hope," Benter Odongo, a resident at Kogelo stated.
Prior to the US polls, residents of Kogelo conducted a mock election where Clinton was declared the winner with a landslide victory.
Trump will now become the 45th American President and will assume office in January after Obama vacates office.
