Emotions were high as hundreds of pupils, accompanied by the Kilimanjaro Regional Commissioner Anna Mgwira teamed to receive three survivors of the Karatu School bus accident that occurred in May.
While it was tears of pain in May, today it was tears of
joy for the pupils, residents who flocked at the Kilimajaro International
Airport (KIA) to receive the survivors, pupils of the Lucky Vincent Primary
School in Arusha.
Their plane, Samaritan Purse, consisting of the
survivors, accompanied by 13 delegates touched down at KIA 9:30 am East Africa
Local time.
That was after an 18-hour flight from Charlotte, United
States, where they had been flown for treatment after they sustained injuries
in an accident that killed 29 pupils, two of their teachers and a driver in
May.
