So who do you think is the best Bongo Flava music producer of all
time? I suppose many are going to mention the likes of P.Funky,Master
Jay,Bonny Luv,Marco Chali,Hermy B,Lamar,Manecky,Kameta,Man
Walter,Roy(RIP) etc
Apparently they have contributed a lot for the attention and ecstacy of Bongo Flava genre not only countrwise but also on prolific international level. But very few Music fans neither remember nor acknowledge the role of foreign producers that used to work here in Tanzania.
Miikka Aleksanteri Kari better known as Miika Mwamba is one of them.In my own opinion He is the “godfather” of Bongo Flava. He was the first producer to adjoin traditional plus Congolese style within Bongo Flava. Remember songs like “Rafiki wa mashaka” by Lady Jaydee,”Nakupenda Mpenzi” by Dudubaya?
Not forgetting the role he did to Dully Sykes by transforming him from Hip Hop style to”Mwanasesere” style. Even the current eminent artistes like AliKiba,Diamond and Mr Blue are fruitful results of his path by considering Dully Sykes’singing style as introduced by Miika Mwamba.
Miika Mwamba produced a lot of fresh ad fine artistes during his tenure at Kokwa Records/FM Studios. “Kwenye Chati” by Balozi Dola Soul,”Baby Gal”by Mad Ice,”Kamanda” by Daz Nundaz, “Elimu Mtaani.com” by D Knob,”Athumani Mlevi” by Solid Ground Family are some of hit songs he produced.
He was jack of all trades within Bongo Flava faction being a Producer, Music Composer and Sound Engineer. During early 2004 Miika Mwamba returned to his native country Finland and still pursuing Music career.
Other producers from abroad that either happened to work here or are still working are like Dunga, Said Comorien, Amiti Mental, Fundi Samweli, Q the Don etc. I really miss their chemistry with Bongo Flava.
Hey Bongo Flava stakeholders you should also be grateful to these guys.Their legacy is obvious.
