Sitta laid to rest in a heroic send-off

THE body of former speaker, Mr Samuel Sitta, was today laid to rest at his home in Urambo district, Tabora region.

A somber mood engulfed residents of Tabora region and Tanzanians at large who he served for several years in different positions.

Hundreds of Tabora residents thronged Urambo Primary School’s grounds to pay their last respects to their beloved leader from early morning today.

The exercise started from 9am to around 1:30 pm. Dignitaries from both sides of the political divide paid a glowing tribute to the deceased former Speaker and Cabinet Minister.

They recounted his illustrious career in public service and the society. Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa led ministers, MPs, government officials and other mourners to pay last respects to the fallen Speaker.
