PRESIDENT John Pombe Magufuli has appointed two new chairpersons
of the national social security funds and one for a higher learning
institution. Information presented by the Chief Secretary, Ambassador
John Kijazi yesterday, had it that Eng Mussa Iyombe becomes the chairman
of the Public Service Pensions Fund (PSPF) board of directors. Before
this appointment Eng Iyombe was Permanent Secretary in the President’s
Office, Regional Administration and Local Government (TAMISEMI).
The president has also appointed Prof Tadeo Andrew Satta to become
the Head of the Institute of Finance Management (IFM). Before his
appointment Prof Satta was deputy principal.
In another development, President Magufuli paid a visit to the Regional Commissioner for Tanga, Mr Martin Shigella, who is ailing and is in a hospital bed at Muhimbili in Sewa Haji ward in Dar es Salaam. Mr Shigella was admitted at the hospital on Wednesday.
The president wished Mr Shigella quick recovery. The condition of Mr Shigella is improving.
President Magufuli has also appointed Prof Faustine Karani Bee to be
chairman of the LAPF Pension Fund. Before his appointment Prof Bee was
the Head of Moshi Cooperative College.
