Magufuli mourns Shinyanga District accident victims

 
PRESIDENT John Magufuli has sent a condolence message to Shinyanga Regional Commissioner (RC), Ms Zainabu Telack, following the death of 18 people in a road accident, which occurred last Sunday.
According to police reports, the accident involved a 21-passenger Noah vehicle that crushed with a truck, leaving 18 dead and three injured at Salala Village in Shinyanga District. 
 
In his message, the president said he was saddened by the wave of road accidents, directing authorities and other stakeholders to chart mechanisms to turn around the situation. “It’s very sad and shocking to lose so many people.

I ask you, the Regional Commissioner, Ms Telack, to convey my deep condolences to the families, friends and relatives of the deceased. We are all together during this sad moment,” President Magufuli said in a statement availed to the media yesterday.

In another development, the president has sent a condolence message to Zanzibar President and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr Ali Mohammed Shein, following the death of the former Chairman of Zanzibar Electoral Commission (ZEC), Judge Zubeir Juma Mzee.

Judge Mzee died on Monday night in Unguja. The president also sent a condolence message to the Isles President following the death of former Deputy CCM Secretary General, Mr Saleh Ramadhan Ferouz, who also died in Unguja.

“I have been deeply saddened by the news of the loss of our retired leaders. We will surely remember their contribution to Zanzibar and the Union as a whole,” he wrote.
