Kanye West admitted he didn’t vote in the US election – but he would have given Donald Trump his support.
The rapper – who repeated his ambition
to run for president in 2020 – interrupted the San Jose stop on his
Saint Pablo tour on Thursday night to go on a 40-minute political rant
as he addressed the controversial politician.
“I told you I didn’t vote,” he told fans this week. “But, if I voted, I would have voted for Trump.”
Fans online revealed how Kanye cut
several songs from his set as he chose to address the current turbulent
and uncertain political climate.
He branded America a “racist” country and urged black people to stop “being distracted” by racism.
“This is my platform and I’m going to talk about the paradigm shift that’s happening right now,” he insisted.
“Whether you voted for Hillary and Trump, this is a safe space for both of you.”
A shoe was thrown on stage as Kanye admitted he liked Trump’s campaign, but it’s said he simply signed it and threw it back.
Later threatening to cancel the show after a projectile hit him, the rapper asked: “Am I not allowed to have an opinion?”
Reacting to the almost one-hour long political speech, one fan tweeted: “Kanye is praising Donald Trump at his show right now.
“Said he likes his politically incorrect way of communication.”
