ANNUAL Inflation rate has stagnated at 4.5 per cent for the two consecutive months.
National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said
today the rate remain unchanged in October, which are similar to
September rate. NBS said “the inflation…explains that, the speed of
price increase for commodities in the year ending October, 2016 has
remained the same as the speed of price increase recorded for the year
ended September, 2016”.
The overall index went up to 103.17 in
October, 2016 from 98.72 recorded in October, 2015. Food and non
alcoholic beverages inflation rate for the month of October, 2016 has
stagnated at 6.0 per cent as it was recorded in September, 2016.
Regionally, Kenya inflation slightly
increased to 6.47 per cent in October, from 6.34 per cent recorded in
September. In Uganda data shows a difference in price movement whereby
inflation rate decreased by 0.1 per cent point to 4.1 per cent October,
2016.
